Holy Week at Little River
Palm Sunday, April 13, 10 a.m.
On Palm and Passion Sunday, our children will lead us in waving palms that celebrate Jesus’ entry into Jerusalem.
Maundy Thursday, April 17, 7:30 p.m.
On Maundy Thursday, we will set one long dinner table down the middle of the sanctuary as we recreate Jesus’ last supper with his disciples. The table will be set with water basins and towels to cleanse our hands before dinner, followed by a communion service around the table. We will enjoy the choir’s beautiful music during this first portion of the service. After communion, we will continue by sharing in a potluck meal and informal discussion. Please bring a Mediterranean dish to share. This is an event for all ages, so bring your families and friends.
Good Friday, April 18, 6:30 p.m.
Join us for a service of prayer and reflection at the outdoor cross on the path to the memorial grove (weather permitting) as the sun sets (rain location: under the cross in the chancel).
Easter Sunday, April 20
We will hold a brief Easter Sunrise Service for those who wish to rise bright and early and meet outside to greet the dawn. The service includes scripture, music, and communion.
Our 10 a.m. Easter Service in the sanctuary will feature brass and timpani as we celebrate the living Christ among us. Bring your families, friends, and neighbors for this jubilant celebration! All are invited to bring food items for our food pantry. Please place your food items (with the expiration dates marked using masking/painter’s tape and a sharpie) in the basket at the front of the sanctuary when you come forward for communion or place them in the basket before or after the service begins. This is particularly timely as we dedicate our Little Food Pantry the following Sunday.
Easter Egg Hunt
Following the 10 a.m. Easter Service, hop on over to the back patio for an Easter egg hunt hosted by our LRUCC youth group. Our 6th-12th grade youth invite all children (toddler-5th grade) to join the hunt. Toddlers-age 6 will hunt on the playground. Ages 7 and up will search a wider area behind the church. We will begin the Easter egg hunt once everyone has gathered on the back patio. Contact ce@lrucc.org with any questions.
Easter Offering
Our annual Easter offering will provide funds to purchase the food for our Rise Against Hunger event later in 2025.
