Senior Pastor Candidate Weekend

Saturday–Sunday, April 29–30

The congregation will have multiple opportunities during candidate weekend to meet the Rev. Dr. Shelli M. Poe, our candidate to serve as Little River’s next settled senior pastor.

Saturday, April 29

  • At 10:30 a.m. those who cannot meet Shelli in person at the church are invited to a festive Zoom open house. Go to bit.ly/LR-Candidate to join by Zoom.

  • From 1:30 to 3:00 p.m. an in-person festive open house will be held in the Social Hall. Volunteers to help and some dessert items are requested. Please sign up at https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10C0844A5AE23A0F85-candidate. You may also call the church office at 703-978-3060 to volunteer.

  • Parents are encouraged to bring their children at the beginning of the open house so the Rev. Poe can meet our congregation’s younger members as a group.

  • From 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. a question and answer session will be held with Rev. Poe in the sanctuary and online, hosted by Gail Perry. Child care will be provided. Go to bit.ly/LR-Candidate to join by Zoom.

 Sunday, April 30

  • Rev. Poe will preach the sermon for the worship service.

  • At 11:00 a.m. there will be a brief coffee hour following worship.

  • At 11:30 a.m. the congregational meeting will begin. A brief introduction from the Search Committee and information about the call will be followed by a congregational vote.

  • Votes will be tabulated and the results announced.
