Celebrating Epiphany: Finding a New Way
Celebrating Epiphany: Finding a New Way
Saturday, January 11, 10 a.m.
All are invited to join the Women’s Ministry on Saturday, January 11, 10 a.m.–noon, for a continental-style breakfast in the Social Hall followed by a program in the Sanctuary centered on Epiphany and what it means to us today.
Why did the story of the three magi visiting the Christ-child in Bethlehem become so central to the birth story? It falls on January 6, 12 days after Christmas Day. Is that significant? Does it still hold the same meaning as it did for earlier Christians? The magi, after being warned in a dream, chose to return home a different way. Can we choose different ways on our faith journeys?
Come join us for a time of reflection as we consider the miracle of the Christ birth story in our program of music, Gospel readings, a brief presentation on the meaning of Epiphany by Janet Parsons Mackey, and a meditative time of quiet and introspection.
