Ministry Board

The Ministry Board meeting on Wednesday, March 13, was principally devoted to coordinating activities in the next few months, including the active Lenten season. Sunday evening programs, featuring a time for meditation and reflection, a light supper, and a discussion focused on forgiveness, will continue for the remaining three weeks of March. Holy Week, April 14-21, will include Maundy Thursday and Good Friday evening services and three services on Easter Sunday – Sunrise, at 6:45 am, and traditional services at both 9:00 and 11:00 am. The UCC One Great Hour of Sharing offering and the Easter offering to benefit hunger-related causes were approved. Other key events discussed were the Open Mike Night on Saturday, April 27, to benefit the LRUCC youth mission trip to Puerto Rico and a special guest preacher, the Rev. Jim Antal, on Sunday, May 5. Rev. Antal is an activist and an author on environmental issues. We may try to arrange for him also to lead a program of some sort that day.

October 10, 2018

Ministry Board met on Wednesday, October 10. During that meeting, we reviewed the church's programmatic calendar through the end of 2018 and began to look at Lent 2019 (which starts on March 6). We also spent time reflecting with one another on how to handle conflict in boards and committees, including different approaches to conflict that committee members might have.
