Fair Trade Sales

Sunday, April 8

Fair Trade Sales are happening this Sunday, April 8, so plan to stock up on your supplies of coffee, chocolate, and Palestinian olive oil while providing fair compensation to farmers in less-developed countries. A portion of the olive oil sales supports Tent of Nations and its peace-building programs in the West Bank.

4th Annual Voices from the Holy Land 2018 Film Series

Sunday, April 8

This Sunday, April 8 at 2:15 pm the Voices from the Holy Land Film Series presents the film Roadmap to Apartheid at nearby Ravensworth Baptist Church (5100 Ravensworth Rd., Annandale, VA). Roadmap to Apartheid takes a detailed look at the apartheid analogy commonly used to describe the Israeli- Palestinian conflict. Narrated by Alice Walker (author of The Color Purple), this film is as much a historical document of the rise and fall of apartheid in South Africa, as it is a film about why many Palestinians feel they are living in an apartheid system today, and why an increasing number of people around the world agree with them.

Little River UCC is part of a coalition of forty-one interfaith (Christian, Muslim, Jewish, Unitarian) faith organizations sponsoring this film series: http://www.voicesfromtheholyland.org All screenings are free. See the event website: http://www.voicesfromtheholyland.org or the flyer on the bulletin board in the social hall for specific details of each screening. Let's show our support!
