About Us

What To Expect

Whether you're a lifelong church-goer or a first-timer, you will find a warm welcome at Little River United Church of Christ. Our hope is that you will take the next step into this community. The information below will help you when you visit us:

Our church is at the end of a long driveway, surrounded by a beautiful wooded area. When you pull into the parking lot, you should find ample parking. You are welcome to use our close-to-the-door visitors’ spaces on your left at the end of the drive.

Next, greeters will welcome you at the door.  At a welcome table near the greeters, you will be provided with a nametag, if you choose to wear one.

If you have children, follow the sign or ask directions to the church school, where you can check your children into this safe and fun area. There are classes for children age two through high school and experienced childcare for children two and under.  However, children are always welcome in worship.

To find the sanctuary, walk down the hall beyond the welcome table and turn right at the windows.  Ushers will greet you, direct you to a seat, and give you a worship bulletin. Our one-hour services typically begin with a time of singing led by one of our choirs, followed by prayers, scripture reading, the sermon, and the offering. To get a taste of a Sunday morning, visit the Sermons page to read our pastors’ messages.

Normally, we celebrate communion together on the first Sunday of the month.  All are welcome to participate in the sharing of the juice and bread.

During each service, we pass a red Friendship Pad down each row in which those in attendance may write their names.  This helps us get to know each other and greet each other by name.  There is also an area for visitors to request more information or a visit from a pastor.  While we invite everyone to sign the Friendship Pad, there is no obligation to do so.

We encourage guests to join us for coffee hour in the social hall near the sanctuary immediately following the service. Here you'll meet others who will offer you light refreshments while getting to know you, answering your questions, and guiding you to resources about the church.
