Fellowship for Children and Youth

First Friday

First Friday is a kids’ night out program, designed to give parents an evening to themselves. Volunteers provide creative and exciting entertainment for the children in a safe and fun atmosphere at the church. Dinner is provided for children and helpers. First Friday is for children aged six months through 12 years. All children in our community are welcome, whether or not their families attend Little River UCC. Tell your friends and family!

The winter/spring session dates are

March 7 -- Fat Tuesday on Friday

April 4 -- Love your Mother (Earth)

Please follow this link to the First Friday for more information and registration.

Youth Summer Mission Experiences

Mission trips are an opportunity for youth to actively practice their faith, join in fellowship with one another, gain independence and responsibility, and learn an appreciation of communities different from their own.

The PYF Youth share in the Potomac Youth Senior High Summer Mission Experiences, partnering with youth from the 36 churches in the Potomac Association-United Church of Christ. Since 2010, The Potomac Youth have organized a “Half-House Sponsorship” annually with Almost Heaven Habitat for Humanity-Franklin, WV. The teams did finishing work on homes including drywall, patching, painting, flooring and landscaping.

In 2014, Potomac Youth is offering a pilot Summer Mission Experience for middle high youth. Through a partnership with Reach Beyond Mission, an organization with UCC roots in Texas. The Middle High Youth will share in an urban immersion in Washington, DC.
