Hands-On Sunday Project — Stop Hunger Now

Sunday, September 27

Since 2012, Little River UCC has sent over 50,000 meals to El Salvador, Haiti and West Africa to help feed children with limited resources. Our partnership with Stop Hunger Now has enabled us to serve the wider world and strengthen our community's bonds.

On Sunday, September 27th, we will gather in the social hall from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. to pack highly nutritious meals that will be sent abroad in the hopes of continuing to fight the global hunger pandemic. We need 75–100 people to assist with packing approximately 20,000 meals. Between setup, packing, and cleanup, there will be opportunities for people of all abilities and ages (four and up) to participate. Child care will also be provided.

Please sign-up online or by contacting the church office. Questions? Please contact This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .

Neighbors in Need Special Offering

Sunday, October 4

Neighbors in Need (NIN) is a special mission offering of the UCC that supports ministries of justice and compassion throughout the United States. One-third of NIN funds support the Council for American Indian Ministry (CAIM). Two-thirds of the offering is used by the UCC's Justice and Witness Ministries (JWM) to support a variety of justice initiatives, advocacy efforts, and direct service projects through grants. NIN will be collected along with our regular offering at both services on October 4. Look for a letter and special offering envelope in the mail soon. Donations may also be made online here or by using the Online Giving button at the bottom of this page.

New Member Information Sessions

Sunday, October 4 & November 1

Each year at this time, we reach out to those who have visited our church in worship, gatherings, and programs. We hope that your time spent with Little River UCC family has been memorable, and that you would consider learning more about the mission, vision, and ministry of our congregation.

We also know from past gatherings many people come and visit, and participate as “Friends” of the church for many years. This invitation goes out to you as well. Maybe you are feeling God’s gentle tug to share more deeply in the ministry of Little River.

In either case, you are invited to come and share in this year’s New Member Information Sessions. These gatherings will take place on Sunday afternoons from 1:00-2:30 p.m. on October 4 and November 1. The sessions are identical, so you don’t need to attend both of them. Childcare and light snacks will be provided.

These gatherings are offered to help familiarize you with the many faces of the ministry at Little River. We welcome you to learn more about our ministries. At the conclusion of the sessions, you are invited to join in membership with the congregation.

We hope to see you at these information sessions! If you have any questions about membership at Little River UCC, please call us at the church office. You can RSVP to the sessions by emailing This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .
